About Us
Jason Getz is an award-winning freelance multimedia photojournalist, who believes his photographs express his unique artistic perspective of the world around him. He is known for his ability to create captivating portraits, dramatic lighting, and inspiring, real moments. What Jason loves about photojournalism, is the ability to capture real moments by patience and anticipation, and then putting yourself in the right place to make those moments permanent.
With more than 15 years of experience working as a full-time photojournalist, Jason’s career has taken him all over the United States, most recently as a staff photographer with the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. He chronicles breaking news, unpredictable weather events, spirited political moments, and fast-paced professional and collegiate sporting events. He’s also photographed numerous celebrities, including Kevin Costner, Ted Turner, Usher, and Joe Namath. Jason is proficiently skilled with photo, audio, video editing and production and related equipment use, including Canon 1Dx DSLR, GoPro cameras, wireless mic setup, studio lighting, and remote transmission.
He is originally from Jupiter, Florida, and attended Rochester Institute of Technology (NY) where he received a B.F.A. in Photojournalism. His photographs are published by the Associated Press, Boston Globe, Chicago Tribune, ESPN, Golf Digest, LA Times, Miami Herald, New York Times, Sports Illustrated, Tampa Tribune, Time Magazine, USA Today and Washington Post.
Jason is married to his wife Ashley. In their free time they enjoy traveling, hiking, cooking together, watching sports, and spending time with friends and family.
